Tried a different strategy for the mines, courtesy of Yapok (though truthfully Destroyo suggested it yesterday, we just weren't confident we could pull it off) and it went off without a hitch.

Killed him on our first attempt, and it still took over an hour (65 minutes). Now, we were being extremely(!) cautious, but an hour to kill one boss? Insane! Considering how much of that fight is unimportant downtime between the exciting bits (the mines), I really feel like his health could do with a trim, or the mines could appear sooner, or something. We spent far too long waiting for the inportant bits to happen.
