Full vault? Why? (Destiny)

I've been keeping only a single set of new stuff, just what gets my Light Level to the highest point. Everything else from Year 1 is safely vaulted and the extra space is for smoother decrypting.

I know it is frustrating right now to not be able to choose your perks (unless you're ok with falling behind, that is). However, as with Year 1, I'm sure there will come a time when we're all drowning in good enough gear and will be able to choose quite easily the exact mix and match we want.
