It just sucks if you are a late comer and missed things like wolfpack hunting, Reef bounty hunting, and those kinds of limited time games. The way the game is set up now also leaves anyone not buying Taken King in the dust, with a gutted experience. No Vanguard Playlists, no Nightfall, no Daily mission, Eris and Petra bounties gone, only 3 Crucible playlists.

Note that one of the quests variks has you do involves going to mars, finding some prowling wolves, and taking out a mini-boss. So it's not all gone forever.
