Related to guilds/clans

Is everything based around combat, or will guilds/clans be able to explore and journey into mysterious places looking for loot and adventure without the possibility of always being ambushed or running into trouble?

To expand, anything regarding puzzles/teamwork to get through or around places, or is it mostly just go somewhere, find enemies, fight your way through, become a legend?
