I've been struggling for a while to find a gun in the new meta that I really like and feel comfortable with. I've finally found it:

Surros PDX-45 Pulse rifle

Hawksaw Archetype with perfect balance, hidden hand, and rifled barrel. It's a laser just like the messenger used to be! Now maybe I can not suck in Trials.

Banshee hands this out often. A few people I know love it (Chaos, I think), but I've not been too impressed, but I still have a couple with "great" rolls. I guess I'm just not much of a Pulse Rifle guy after the most recent nerf, outside of Bad Juju (and I have a Lighthouse Reflection Sum with Headseeker).

I feel like they haven't even been nerfed at all. My old pulse rifles feel just as effective as before. The only real noticeable improvement is to hand canons.

The latest balance update killed Pulse Rifles for me in PvP. It wasn't a drastic change, but their accuracy was hit hard enough that it has added at least 1 extra shot per kill on every PR I have. The Messenger/Spare Change archetype was hit the worst... their damage was reduced such that they are now a 3-shot kill at best, which makes their slow rate of fire a huge problem. My Nerwin's Mercy and Reflection Sum can both still kill in 3 shots if I fire perfectly, but that's much harder to do from the range I'm used to shooting from.

I've been finding I do much better with ARs or SRs. If I'm playing aggressively, rushing lots, I'll use Zhalo Supercell. If I'm keeping my distance more, then Mida wrecks any PR in the game (in my experience).

With the Surros PDX, I'm getting 3 burst kills about a quarter of the time. The combination of perks makes it amazingly rock solid stable, and hidden hand helps. It's great at messenger distances.

MIDA is really good. Hawkmoon / Imago is hit or miss depending on the map. I do okay with it on things like Asylum or Firebase Delphi, but once distances get too long it looses to pulse / scout.
