It seems to be rather poorly thought out. (Destiny)

Alternate Post Title:

WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA?!

Let's start with the Challenge scorecard thing. You can only make progress on this card by playing "Challenge mode" POE Activity. This activity has no matchmaking enabled, despite being relatively easy to complete (I guess AFK-ers might be a thing? That seems like a lame excuse, though). It seems to take three runs of the activity on a single card to hit the "combined score" requirement, and each of those runs has ZERO variation.

Whatever happened to spamming Tower invites like a good rando?

And then you have to do the whole thing over again on two more characters. So that's 9(!) completions of this static activity per week, with no matchmaking.

"Have to". You don't "Have to" do anything. In fact, I only planned to run a few rounds this week with different folks. The notion that you're obligated to do anything is the problem. It's not a race to 335, you'll be okay.

The one Level 41 activity we played last night was identical to the old Level 28 Matchmade PoE, but enemies give XP and drop engrams now. So that's a wash.

The 41 PoE has matchmaking, so what's the issue?

Low Impact Fix: Add a third activity which is identical to "Challenge Mode", but with a lower light level and 1/2 point values, that count toward your card. And have it be matchmade and with randomized encounters, like the current matchmade PoE. This means that instead of roping in a fireteam for 9 activities per week, you only need three (for the high-score part of the card), and can finish the combined score on your own time with randos, in a non-static activity.

So you want to grind the card twice as long as normal... Gotcha.
