my only options for advancement are nightfall, crucible, and raid, and I can't get to raid level apparently without doing one of the previous two, one of which I am (apparently) still grossly under-leveled for despite the advertised power rating of 240.
What's your power level? The soft cap isn't until 265. Patrol activities should be giving you good drops up until that point.
