The heroic strike changes make me sad (Destiny)

Heroic strikes are WAY too hard now. They recommend 350 and don't drop anything above 340.

Strikes have been the main activity my friend and I did.

When we first ran through the DLC, we completed the story and then I loaded up the heroic strikes playlist. It took us an hour and 5 minutes to complete it a single strike. Before the DLC, we were doing heroics in about 15 minutes.

I don't understand the reasoning here. Nightfalls and Prestige Nightfalls were already hard. Why do heroic have to be so difficult too? Nightfalls are listed at 270, but they still seem just as hard, if not harder.

Plus, there is apparently a bug now where heroic strikes don't count towards your milestone. I did 5 yesterday and only got credit for 3. Wiping at each boss multiple times is not fun.

Reading some of the other threads here, it sounds like the only way to get your LL quickly is to do raids a bunch. I don't raid. That leaves very few ways to get my LL up just in order to make heroic strikes not super hard anymore. Why should I have to do raids to be able to enjoy strikes?

I was a big fan of the casualization of D2, and it feels like they swung back really hard in the opposite direction. :(

Any milestone completion will level you up. Completing several of them of week should get you to 370 before long. I ran into difficulty in the strikes while I was under 350, and this often translated into many failures with the final strike boss. A few times, though, the game dumped me into final boss encounters because of vacancies when people quit, and we got done in about the same time strikes normally take. I actually enjoyed the challenge. Robot Chickens, Up North, and I failed in the Pyramidion a few times the other night, and it was fun having to be careful and coordinate our attacks. The one I'd probably not want to experience again underleveled is Exodus Crash.

Edit: forgot to mention there is a workaround for the bug.
