(Maybe having one group of three go immediately and the second group waits a few seconds before going next would solve some confusion?)

We discussed trying this as well - you could leave anyone with whisper for the second wave. Numbering seemed a lot simpler and potentially less prone to someone dying. One thing I didn't mention is that doing an incorrect plate will spawn ogres in the center. It turns out spawning the ogres is related to the challenge bounty that hawthorne gives you for this encounter.
