That's just basic playtesting.


With all the items and perks in Destiny 2, to actually test everything would be an astronomical time sink. The test matrix (basically every perk * every perk * every perk etc...) would be mindbogglingly high.

Except in this instance, there were only four unique armor perk sets introduced into the game (outside of exotics).
And not only that, they themselves are the big draw for the entire expansion. To say that the entire loot focus of the premiere content (again, just four perk sets) wasn’t a high priority for playtesting?

... well, it wouldn’t be inconsistent with D2 Bungie, I guess.


In software it is quite common that testing things much longer than actually designing, developing, and implementing things, particularly when there are lots of interactions.

So how many interactions are possible with the Gambit prime armor? I thought the perks were only active in Gambit Prime.
