Yes, the EAZ is a really cool space, but Bungie's lack of regard for my time is anything but cool.
All you get for doing the whole thing 3 times is a sparrow you'll probably never use anyway. Doing it once seems fun enough. No third character for me either, not sure if I'll even bother on my second. I didn't get last year's ship either - haven't missed it.
