(I offer this because I've done it at least twice now, maybe more)
You do it alone until you get to the part where you need to shoot the big guy with Izanagi's. You message me (clearly, you do this at a time when we're both on :) ) and I join you, shoot the boss, and leave again.
This is how Korny got it on both his and Sammy's accounts. It's pretty smooth.
