Ascendant material conversion (Destiny)

Would be nice to have a way to convert ascendant materials. I almost always get shards from raids/public events/daily story/etc. I had enough shards to get 2 characters to level 29, and still have 55 shards left over.

I would love to be able to convert one to the other. They could make it was a 5:1 or 10:1 ratio to keep it from being abused, or to keep people from just flip flopping their materials back and forth. I've had to buy weapons just to break them down for energy.
