Xbox One controllers are indeed different in design. The bumper is a clicky hinge rather than the simple button design of the 360.
It's extremely frustrating, but as has been pointed out, some people prefer this for some reason.
You simply can NOT use the XBone bumpers the same way as the 360 version, because they'll feel super stiff and uncomfortable. CruelLEGACEY pointed out why.
