^ I suspect this is the biggest TECHNICAL barrier. (Destiny)

Perhaps you could auto equip a non-exclusive, if they don't have one give them a khvostov, if their inventory is full of exclusives prompt them to delete one before they can play

I don't particularly like this solution. You would be hindered for buying two copies of the game, since you'd have no way to separate the accounts (barring providing yet another e-mail to Bungie).

I think I see what you're saying. Yeah, moving from what is currently essentially two separate accounts to one account would be problematic. I was saying that they could have done it to begin with and that the TECHNICAL problem of exclusives is solvable.

Add to that the fact that having purchased the game on previous gen & current gen platforms is the essentially same thing as having purchased the game on two separate platforms (excluding platform exclusives of course). Why can't you have 6 different characters, 3 for the 360 & 3 for the xb1? Same argument for PS vs XB.

(really, in this extreme edge case they're asking for problems, why the crap would you be carrying around 10 Monte Carlos?).

Don't think of it as 10 Monte Carlos, but as a combination of exclusives. A Monte Carlo, a Hawkmoon, a 4th Horseman, the new exclusive guns, etc.

Yeah, but, as it is now you can only have 1 exclusive weapon equipped at any time (as they are all exotics) so this negates the combination problem of multiple exclusives across weapon types and just leaves just the 1 weapon type that has the currently equipped exclusive as the problem to deal with.

The only time auto-unequpping is going to be a problem is when they have all 10 slots of that type filled with exclusives. At this point in time the primaries (if we pick the primary weapon slot as the one equipped with an exclusive) would have to be filled with Monte Carlos & Hawk Moons. Few people have 10 of these, and even fewer would have them all on the same character. My point is that's an edge case that the vast majority of players will never encounter, and if they do it's likely because they're trying to break the platform exclusivity of the weapons. Because it's such a rare edge case then a less-than-stellar solution should be acceptable.
