I want to buy Emotes, but their implementation is bad. (Destiny)

Why can't we just have a controller scheme where holding down the left D-pad brings up an emote wheel where we chose one of many possible options!

I would prefer to just map all four directions to whatever you wanted. I still think that long presses on the D-pad should be reserved for ammo synths and 3 of coins. There is no reason to have to go to your menu, tab over, scroll to the synth and hold X. and that is assuming that the timer is up. If it's not, you have to come back and do it again. It should be mapped to a long press, and if it's too soon, it should flash the timer briefly in the corner of the screen.
