Also, I couldn't double jump, so the map navigation was a very interesting thing.

That's one thing that's taking me a while to get used to. Up to this point I've only used a Warlock and their glide. Having the more traditional double-jump has really hurt me in some instances. But in others it's proved to be invaluable.
