It does teleport you if you stay in the airlock too long at the beginning of a round, or if you don't return to the airlock after a round.

Nobody was teleported at all. I think it only happens if you are not actually in the arena, and in the airlock.

This line of reasoning doesn't really help. Not being teleported while in the arena in all your playing time does not prove that you cannot be teleported in the arena. It only means you haven't incurred the conditions necessary for teleportation in the arena if it does, indeed, occur.
