But the financial model assumes a support base of more than you. I bought $10 worth of silver over lunch, for instance. As long as enough people find value in the new stuff (enough to pay for it) then it's a win for you since you'll get free stuff. And the way these things tend to work is far more than enough people find far more than enough value. I'd be willing to bet quite a lot that Bungie ends up making far more this way than with the player base fracturing Expansions model.
So, if I'm right: Bungie gets more money to fund development, people like me get new stuff early, and patient people like you get all the stuff for free after a while. Yes, there are slippery slopes everywhere but slipping down any of them is not guaranteed...
