
It's not much different than coupons (Destiny)
Some people put time in to getting coupons to save money (people who get emotes as drops) and then there are people who don't use coupons because it's not worth their time to collect them to save the money (people who use silver) It's just a way to make sure both groups are happy. The only thing I see that could have gone bad is if you didn't tell people from the get go that this is the system.
Also, this is very much like DOTA 2 in that you can get drops or you can just buy the cosmetic stuff.
