You did the same by buying on PS4. That log in your eye surely must hurt terribly!
That is at least partially true. I chose my current gen system in part because I wanted the best version of Destiny. Even without the exclusives, the PS4 version is the best version. It was either do that and indirectly support the platform exclusives, or be bombarded with ads when I turn on an Xbox One. Neither is a great thing, but the choice was clear.
