You're purposefully ignoring the part anybody is taking issue with.

It's not that you bought the game at a store, rather than acquire it digitally, or something;

It's that you bought a game before it should have come out, knowingly supporting a practice (breaking street date) that's kind of shitty (it's disrespecting developer/publisher intent and just unfair to people who can't or won't buy before they're supposed to, and retailers that aren't willing to do something they're not supposed to who lose sales because of it).

Maybe that's not a breach of your principles at all, but don't pretend like you don't get what part of it people are saying should be.
