The old destiny 2 system of challenges that pulled from the destination menu was more convenient in many ways, but getting players in social spaces is valuable. Especially since the Cryptarch's role has been so heavily diminished. Where it really falls down though is clarity. Going to a menu or vendor, and purposefully selecting "I'm doing xyz" is a great way to keep the kind of psychogical load in check.

So have every bounty listed in a menu, and you press X to acquire the ones you want to do. Or bring back bounty bot, and have it list everything. But especially with the load times, having to go to the tower, then to the spider, then back to the tower because you forgot the gambit bounties sucks and is draining on the fun.
