I thought that was your definition of the best gaming experience - the pure form - it forced game designers to make enjoyable games. (Ring any bells?)

Not quite. I come to the arcade with a pocket full of quarters. You don't have to waste your time to get more. You spend money at an arcade. You spend time with investment systems. Frankly, my time is more valuable than my money.

Arcade games are built around the exact opposite principle. Instead of stringing things out, they concentrate things.
