Exotic Shard [Img] (Destiny)

You only get one from sharding an exotic, it seems...

Did you have experience in that exotic that you sharded? Or was it still new, with no green circles?

I've got a second exotic helmet that I plan on sharding, and I'm curious if I should invest experience in it.

You get one Exotic Shard, regardless of experience. I finished earning experience with my duplicate exotic helmet (all the upgrade spots for Knucklhead Radar were empty green circles), and got one Exotic Shard when I dismantled it.
