Sound design and open worlds

I'm still not sure if Destiny is precisely that type of game. The gameplay in the trailer looked like a lot of fun but I think I need to see a bit more. Also, I guess I have bad memories of going from the wide open environment of the Macworld trailer to the relative linearity of Halo post-Microsoft-buyout (how awesome it turned out to be, notwithstanding).

I felt the same way, but I have a feeling that Halo was better for it. It looks to me like Destiny is giving Bungie a chance to re-visit some old ideas that just weren't possible before.
