What in the actual hell. (Destiny)

So. For reasons only known to Microsoft's esteemed programmers and hardware engineers I can only use a microphone when my chat adapter is plugged in. And Destiny has decided I always have a mic plugged in no matter if I do or not. I get no microphone input at all if I plug straight into the controller. Unplugging my mic shows the mic icon go away... only to reappear a second later for no reason.

Pointy end of the crowbar. Like aiming for an eye of whoever is responsible for this stuff...

Same issue happened to me a month after I got mine. I just went without a headset for a bit, until I caved and got the adapter to use my PS4 headset. Must be intentional design to get you to buy an adapter. :P
