The chat adapter is awesome. You get master volume controls, game/chat volume blend controls, and a mic mute button all right there. I actually wish Sony would release a similar product for the PS4, even though it isn't "required" just so I could get all those controls.

The Astro Mix amp does all that and more. I use it with my PS4.

True, but I already have the A50s. Plus the great thing about the chat adapter is its attached to the controller; no reaching for a separate device to adjust volume settings. That and it'll work with whatever headset I plug in to it.
