Destiny Art Dump

The crew here has been pretty lax over the holidays - but maybe it's time to get back to work? We'll see. In the meantime, there have been a few interesting art-related posts recently; here's a quick recap:

• nomis78 stopped by a couple of weeks ago with a bunch of panoramas he'd stitched together in Destiny. (The image at the top of this post is one of them.) Take a look - they're quite cool!
• cheapLEY noticed a collection of Wallpapers over at Imgur (created by SiLeNtWaLkEr) - if you are less bothered than cheapLEY is by the watermarked signature, there are some great screens here!
• Former Bungie employee Isaac Hannaford recently posted a few new pieces of Destiny concept art on his blog - I love this stuff! (Thanks to Black Six for the heads-up.)

Taking the Long (Wide?) View

Creating panoramic shots in Bungie games has been a thing for many years, and we've even highlighted a few - but there's a huge batch that's new to me. Over on reddit, THConer posted a link to a few dozen of them, many of which were created before TTK dropped. Thanks to dogcow, I finally got to see them! You should, too. They're beautiful. And THConer's reddit post shows you how to make your own.

Not Just a Skybox. Sky ART.

The usually gif-tastic Grizzlei highlighted Bungie's "Skywriters of Destiny" article from a few days ago (which I couldn't post about at the time because my dog ate my DBO homework?). So if you haven't already read it, do so, and learn a bit more about what goes into making Bungie's beautiful vistas and gaze on some lovely panoramas. They've come a long way since our first step out of that Bumblebee lifepod, eh? Not to mention the parallax backgrounds of Marathon!

Bungie Weekly Update appears on Fridays, most weeks. Since tomorrow is a pretty big holiday in the US, it's been dropped a day early - and it's chock-full of goodies for you. (Thanks, GrimBrother IV!) There are 5 new panoramas, showing off gorgeous Destiny landscapes... and Xenos even pointed out where redditor plattinator dropped them into a viewer on pan0.net, so you can actually view them in the round. There are details about Bungie's presence at RTX this weekend, and the ability of conventiongoers to play a little bit. There's a wonderful bit about where the money for the Alpha Commemorative t-shirt is going. And there's a new mail sack. All in all, it's a collection of info you shouldn't pass up. Destiny Panoramas
