I thought I was pretty clear that I was regarding melees where you physically strike your opponent. Throwing knives are great (though they demand accuracy) and I love smoke probably more than most, but when you're within a few meters and blink strike would kill a person, but a normal stab wouldn't, blink strike is superior. Plus, there's always that awful scenario where you're 1m from a person and instead of just physically stabbing them, you throw a knife or smoke right at the floor. With a bladedancer, you're guaranteed to try and stab the opponent, whether your melee is charged or not.
