My fears came true (Destiny)

during the lead up to D2, a lot of people were worried that there would be too much Cayde due to him being singled out in the promotional material,; D2 was looking to be too cheesy.

for those of you that were worried about Cayde fatigue, how do you think Bungie did?

I didn't think Cayde was really an issue at all. I think there was a good balance between humor and drama.

I found Cayde unbearable most of the time. It's not "the amount of Cayde" in the game that was the problem, per say. It was the "type of Cayde" that we got. Cayde in TTK was actually mostly serious, with little moments of levity here and there. Cayde in D2 is cracking wise with every. Single. Line. Which is already a problem, and made far worse by the fact that almost none of it was funny in the least.

Bungie did avoid one pitfall I was worried about: they didn't treat Cayde as the only source of humour in the game. Unfortunately, the other sources of humour (Ghost, Failsafe) were just as poorly done as Cayde.

So in short, I think Destiny 2 is generally full of bad attempts at humour, with Cayde being the most obnoxious example (all just IMO of course).
