ALL PLAYERS...ONE WORLD? (Destiny)

NO mention of platforms or game networks...could they have figured out a way for the players on different platforms to influence ONE world of Destiny as a whole, even if we can't play directly cross-platform/network?
That would be amazing, but I'd also gladly accept two worlds, Microsoft world and Sony world.
I'd let PC players have free reign everywhere, except I don't know if they're be balance/control/modding issues that would break everything.
