I'm sort of in the same boat. I think after I try trials, and after I try the heroic raid, I might put the game down. Mostly because of the stupid updates with motes / weapon parts etc, but also microtransactions. The difference is this time it would be in disappointment after much satisfaction, versus in uncontrollable rage.

I still think you're getting ahead of your self over the microtransactions. Your points against them all seem to be based on assumptions of what will happen (that the content funded by the microtransactions won't be as good as content funded by full-price DLC payments), but none of that has actually happened yet. I'd say lets wait and see. Who knows, you might be right. Or Bungie might surprise you and release a steady stream of fun new content without charging you a penny. You've gotta admit, that would be pretty cool, right? :)
