Trials Adept weapons all have "Last Resort" perk (Destiny)

As you may remember, all Year 1 Trials of Osiris weapons came with the "3rd Eye" perk. Didn't seem flashy on paper, but it is actually an extremely useful PvP perk.

Reports are now coming in that all Year 2 Trials Adept weapons come with the "Last Resort" perk (This weapon handles and reloads faster when the player is the last living member of the fireteam).

Note that this perk only comes standard on "adept" weapons... I think the standard versions come with a random perk in that slot? Anyone know for sure?

Is it just me, or is this a complete waste of a perk? I'm not going to say it is "useless", but I would rather have just about any other perk in its place. If I'm the last living player on my fireteam, how useful is a slight boost to weapon handling and reload speed? Not much, if you ask me. Not to mention the fact that it's a perk that will be completely useless if you're playing solo (since you're not even in a fireteam). During standard 6v6 matches, chances are you will never be the only player left standing on your team, and if you are it will only be for 1 or 2 seconds. To me, it is clearly a perk designed for the elimination gametype. But in my experience, if you're the last player on your team standing in a Trials match, it is going to take more than faster weapon handling to save you.

More to the point, the Trials adept weapons are supposed to be the top rewards in the game, right up there with the adept Raid weapons. And who knows, the weapons could still be great. I'm just a touch disappointed by the news that the Trials adept weapons come fitted with at least 1 waste of a perk slot. The lack of elemental damage was already a blow, now this too.

Say what you will about the loot problems with Destiny year 1, I wanted those raid and trials weapons. Even the Iron Banner weapons were more desirable before, since you didn't need to pour higher-level guns and parts into infusing them. As it stands now, I've scrapped every raid weapon I've found, and the Trials weapons are looking to be a fair bit less exciting this time around. And with Iron Banner, the excitement of getting a new weapon is hampered by the chore of upgrading them to get them up to endgame level.

What do you all think? Am I totally off on Last Resort?
