I love the concept (Destiny)

The Raid weapons all have Cocoon in a slot that in Year 2 is usually associated with an exotic perk. Learning that Trials is doing something similar I think is an awesome way to make the guns unique without making them the powerhouses of Year 1 Raid weapons. I'll be curious to see if this trend continues for the rest of Year 2.

Having some kind of special perk "baked in" to the top-tier weapon sets is an awesome idea. In terms of the raid weapons, Cocoon is a very cool perk that gets more useful the more raid weapons you equip. I'm just disappointed with the specific ability they chose to add to the Trials adept weapons. It just feels like a "non perk" to me, since it will so rarely make any significant difference. Not a good replacement for elemental damage in this case, IMO.
