This was my bread and butter . . . and it was hard as hell as is. I always needed a "practice round" before soloing it. Now it's going to be even harder? But why . . . ? Why not just make it harder all around? Why punish the people trying to pull off something cool?

I don't think they made it harder, just longer (giggity). Nightfall is so cheeseable as is that it would've been more fun if they made you do more damage so you'd actually be tempted to go into the killbox and try to actually fight it out in the field. This just further incentivizes sniping from the crow's nest.
