Lag on PS4 is a big problem for me (Destiny)

I'm constantly getting shotgunned through walls, firing my golden gun at a guy who then teleports backwards and doesn't die, or seeing the guy who just killed me skipping around the map (and not using blink). It has gotten better since the December patch, but still makes me rage. If I put two shotgun blasts into someone's back, they should not be able to turn around and melee me to death, only to fall over three seconds later. Needs fixing.

Sounds like you need to get a better connection. ;-)

I say that teasingly, yet also honestly. Are you sure your router/modem doesn't experience intermittent failures? I had a period of a couple months were my connection LOOKED good. Speed tests returned good bandwidth with low latency. I usually had a green bar in Destiny, but occasionally I would have periodic lag. Using various net tools I was able to determine it was actually periodic packet loss between me & the first hop out of my house. I forget exactly how I ended up getting my connection ironed out, (new cable modem maybe?) but after messing around with it for a while my connection cleaned up & things have been better.

edit: typo

It's possible. I just moved in December so I've got a whole new setup that is far better than what I had before (used to be on wifi, now am wired). 75 Mbps down, 10 Mbps up, allegedly. I usually get 50 down, but that's still well above what I'd need for any online game. I can also add that playing CoD, Titanfall, or any other online game on my Xbone doesn't have any latency issues remotely close to what I have seen in Destiny, but I also play Destiny a lot more because that's where my friends are, so add a grain of salt.
