BTW, why 360 guide so slow? (Gaming)

I've only noticed this recently, but why does the guide chug when I want to use it to play with friends or really anything?

Only recently? The Guide has always been horribly slow. Almost unusable during games. I'm really hoping the XB1 fixes that issue.
