I just read through all the available text on the Owl Sector site (as of posting), and it appears these Tech Mites are something the Vanguard are concerned about.

I don't think it makes much sense to create something you DON'T want your community to gather/share, but from a story standpoint do you think these actually might be something we want to avoid catching all of? Just spitballing....

I agree. It goes against promotion strategy. On one hand, if they are good it promotes people playing more (because of the experience bonus) but at the same time the story makes it sound like they are bad for you... I don't really get it myself. It's really contradicting.

Maybe once ROI comes out you'll have to go through a quest to "cleanse" yourself of these things for some reason we don't know of yet? Perhaps if you don't you can't go near SIVA without the "tech mites" being controlled by the fallen and hurting you or something similar?
