I’ll be interested to check it out. LiS 2 didn’t grab me, but I keep meaning to make time to go back to it.
LiS 2 was stealth conservatism and completely turned me off in terms of thematics.
Maybe it's just me, but with stuff like this (and your absolutely terrible assessment of The Last of Us: Part 2), I'm starting to get the feeling that you might look too much into things with games...
I can't imagine going into a game and scrutinizing if it lined up with my preferred metaphors, pandered to my most edge-case ideals, and made a commentary on the most pertinent social issues that I prioritize today.
I mean, there's definitely a lot in terms of messages and influence that one can take away from any game, but latching onto those things and dragging the experience for not drafting a bill to present to Congress between "Press Start" and "New Game+"... That just seems like you're missing the forest, IMO.
Again, maybe it's just me.
