Yesterday, Bungie (well, officially NVIDIA, but Bungie) released the official trailer for the Destiny 2 PC Open Beta, coming at the end of this month. The content doesn't look hugely different from the Xbox/Playstation Betas last month (though Harmanimus did notice a few new tidbits), but it's running at 60 frames per second, and it does look rather nice at that framerate. (The version in our Official Vids archive - which, if you haven't visited in a while, is a bit easier to navigate these days - is also 60fps.) Take a look - and prepare for battle in less than 2 weeks! Thanks, DiscipleN2K.
The folks over at PC Gamer had an in-depth interview with Bungie's own Luke Smith; answering a series of burning questions that covered not only the PC version of Destiny 2, but also shed some light on a number of details that fans across all platforms may have been wondering about. Check it out, and thanks to Ragashingo for the heads up!
Betcha can't stick it... anymore. The June update is live, removing the ability to stick Tripmines to enemies (they've clearly learned to lather themselves with oil). Don't despair too much about this and other nerfs, because Hunters (and the other classes) have also seen a number of PvE buffs to help with the Orb-making. And you'll need those buffs, because a few of your favorite weapons have received some balance tweaks as well.
Stephen Laughlin spent some time in the Tower while playing the Destiny Alpha - and he's got some great NPC dialogue to show for it. Go watch!
IGN posted a short blurb on the possibility of a PC version of Destiny; it has a few encouraging quotes from Bungie wordsmith Eric Osborne (Urk). Bottom line: it's possible, but there's nothing to announce yet. The article also has a quick mention of how Bungie would like to keep player data platform-agnostic, so check it out!
Penny Arcade's Ben Kuchera has a little more speculation about the potential for a PC version of Destiny, based on an interaction with Pete Parsons last week. Are we all thinking too much about this right now? Thanks, electricpirate.
