Year 1 Crucible was the peak, imo.

But 3v3 (non-sweaty, with res) was still where I had the most fun, though I feel like teams of three limits your strategic options a little more than I'd like. 4 will always be the magic number for me.

Wouldn't say no to an additional 6v6 (or 8v8!!!) mode on larger maps too. Always made me sad that Bungie's solution to First Light, Bastion et al was to just kill them unceremoniously, rather than have larger game modes.

Those rare games where matchmaking lines you up with 4v4 or 5v5 are pretty good. I feel like this will be a good decision, but I'm still sad about some of it. I really enjoy playing with 5 other DBO peeps during Iron Banner. It's just fun. Sure 4 will be good too, but it become less of a party & more intimate. I'll miss the "party" atmosphere. (plus when I play Halo 3 w/ my old roommates we usually end up w/ 12 people thus 6v6 has good associations in my mind)
