Destiny Strike mission designer James Tsai sat down with IGN's Destin Legarie to maximize his success fighting through the Devil's Lair Strike - sneaky little places to fight from, strategies to avoid getting blindsided, and weaknesses of the baddies you're fighting - this vid has it all! Go watch.
There's an interesting post over at NeoGAF - it's written by a long-time gamer who generally enjoys single-player games (or playing with coop buddies) over multiplayer stuff. He doesn't play online games much at all. If this sounds like you... go give it a read. (You might be surprised by his experience with Destiny.) Thanks, Kermit (or should I say Mig).
IGN has posted some footage from the Xbox One, so that you can compare it to PS4 footage before the Xbox is allowed into the Beta tomorrow. Go take a look! Thanks, petetheduck.
Eurogamer's Digital Foundry has taken another look at the Destiny Beta - this time, they're looking at how the PS3 graphics hold up in the face of PS4 graphics. It's impressive how improved the latest gen looks! (While we're at Eurogamer, there's also an article that puts out a few random thoughts from the Beta - everything from whether it was worth the investment to how good Dinklage's voiceover has been.) Thanks to DaDerga for the links.
Stephen Laughlin and friends spent time this weekend trying to break out of the gamespace in the Destiny Beta. (This is a time-honored tradition when it comes to Bungie games!) They were successful in popping out - and maybe with more time, they will actually be able to explore! Go check out the antics in their YouTube vid.
As usual, running a little behind on Destiny doings - I'd blame the Beta for sucking up all my time, but it's been on hiatus for the last two days. Catching up: Kotaku loves the music in the Beta - to the point where they're distracted by it! (Been there, done that.) Always good to remember how important the soundtrack is. Go read! Thanks, Avateur.
The Destiny Beta is back online a little earlier than expected! They're deploying Xbox codes now, so for those of us who have waited to play, it's time to watch your email or check your Bungie.net Profile and get downloading!
See you starside.
"I met a Guardian in the wastes of Siberia. But she was dead."
"The transmat was down and I needed all the help I could get. With a necessary shame, I took her gun and I took her food and then I said a goodbye with a bitter salute.
"But then I saw her journal. My pack was already full but I would make the room.
"I remembered something Skald once told me. 'We Guardians are already ghosts. We're dead to begin with. What matters is that our actions persist, that our deeds before, during, or after life build towards a future full of Light. That means we must remember and record. Sometimes, the Dark can be stayed with just a memory, a knowledge that what we've done will always have been done.'
"Upon the front endcover and the flyleaf was this drawing:
"I'll transmit more once I reach the wall I can see in the distance - hopefully a place I can rest."
