I mean, this is an inherently unsolvable problem when you have so many weapons, most of which play extremely similarly. There's almost by definition going to be weapons you acquire that you never use. And it's exacerbated by using guns as extrinsic rewards.

I'm curious why it's a "problem" though. So what if a player doesn't use every gun they acquire?

Look at how much time and energy and how many problems arise from the investment system. To fix the problem is to fundamentally overhaul the very idea of it.
