Bungie using stolen art in Marathon (Destiny)

Sadly, I think in our society of constant instant gratification, mid-anything will never cut it. Things are either "F***IN FIRE, BRO" or "ayo thas s*** bruh"...nothing in between.

It's not about instant gratification.

It's about, "If I'm spending my time / money, I want a great experience not just an ok one".

That's kind of my point. Why isn't "good" good enough? Why does everything have to be the most amazing thing ever? In the least, Marathon is good. But since it's not amazing, then it sucks.

I see a lot of movies, and even if a film is just okay, there’s usually something enjoyable about it. I’ve only walked out of two movies in my entire life.

But when you have a game that’s going to demand dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of hours of your time, the burden is much higher for quality. An okay movie doesn’t tie you up for months. Marathon is not a quick single player game you’re done with in ten hours.
