Agreed. Misleading headline intended for clicks (Destiny)

The worst thing about the cultural landscape now is how these things have their own kind of power that actually affect outcomes--outcomes that would not have happened otherwise.

I'm not sure what to make of this.

If you're saying that things like the art theft would not have made a difference before youtube and social media existed, because we'd all be ignorant, I'm not sure that's a plus.

If you're saying that the game should be cancelled because removing the stolen art is not good enough, and that misleading people is okay if it serves that goal of getting the game canceled, then I strongly disagree with you.

In this post, though,I wasn't talking about the stolen art at all. I'm only talking about misleading headlines, which is all a lot of people get.

If you're saying that it's just a shame the entire internet has a hate boner for Bungie and Marathon, the simple solution is to just ignore that. Don't have a twitter page for your game / studio. Don't have community managers that interact with players. Just make a game, then sell your game. I've bought plenty of games from studios with virtually no social media presence.

When you invite streamers to play your game, you've opted into that cultural landscape. It's up to you.

I wasn't talking about Bungie in particular. I'm making a statement about our cultural landscape.
