Most of this thread seems to be sidestepping the issue. I’m going to talk about it head-on.

Honestly? There are no excuses anymore. There is now a significant track record of Bungie plagiarizing art elements across multiple projects. Why does this keep happening?

It's wild they aren't suing the former artist. At the very least for wages they were paying this person to create original art, and possibly for the cost of the internal review of the game's art assets. There's absolutely damages beyond even that.
