I do like asymmetrical sticks, but I suspect the bigger issue has always been the awkward grip shape. That's being addressed, and the controller barrier scares me less than it has in the past.

For me it has been more the looseness and dead zone of the sticks (which they claim they have addressed, but we'll have to wait to see for sure). I do like that they are taking some strides with the new controller, other than "Look we made it wireless and added motion controls!" like they did with the PS3, but unless those two concerns are addressed I will have serious issues with the controller still.
