Oh I definitely agree. The thing I am worried about is definitely the last part you mention, that companies could require you to be online at all times to play their games even when the game is not an online game.

I'm curious as to whether that means anything, actually. Technically speaking, it wouldn't even be that hard to program a game on 360 to require an internet connection.

If Microsoft doesn't have policies in-place to require that publishers not do that, the situation isn't much different than it already is.

I would guess it would somehow be a feature built into the 720 that they can use if they so desire. That's how I interpreted it when I read it, but who knows. We'll find out in about a month.
