Holding Aces... For a Good Cause.

Today, Bungie in partnerships with the Gaming Community Expo raised more that $800,000 dollars for St. Jude Hospital during a four hour streaming block. As donation goals were reached, sketches were drawn, lore was read by some well known Destiny voices, and we got a few little previews of things to come... including a reveal that a memorable, luck-reliant exotic hand cannon that we all quickly obtained back in Destiny 1 is returning. ;)

Rarities out of Love and Support

Michael Forgey worked for Bungie as a producer until he passed away due to cancer. Bungie (and other studios) are auctioning off some signed, rare memorabilia on eBay to help support his family. So if you have some money, want some cool things, and want to give to a good cause, you can see what's up for grabs here.

Operation Supply Drop - Going On NOW!

So first off, I'd like to apologize for the incredibly poor timing of this post; the event described herein is going on RIGHT NOW. You should swing by the Twitch Stream to watch the shenanigans, or visit the donation page to throw in your two cents (or two bucks, or really whatever you can spare). Donate to what, you ask?

Operation Supply Drop is a charity organization set up to provide recreational support to US and NATO troops around the world. The 2015 8-Bit Salute is looking to raise $5,000 from the Destiny community - and they're well on their way (almost $2,000 so far). Go watch them streaming Destiny for the next 24 hours or so - and help out with a great cause, if you can!

We know about this because LadyDesiree stopped by a couple of days ago, and posted a new arrangement she'd recorded - 'Cabal Stomp', on piano. This, like her other arrangements, rocks, and we're sorry it took so long to highlight it - and the event she created it for. Go watch, go listen!

Extra Life for an Exo Print

As announced on last night's episode of dboTV, we're currently running a contest where you can win one of the prints from Bungie's "Ghosts in the Machine" concept art gallery by participating in the Destiny Community's Extra Life campaign. Only 20 copies of the Exo image above (by Jaime Jones) were sold, so this is a pretty awesome prize Beorn snagged for the DBO community! For all of the details on how to enter, check out this post /Sekhmet/ left on our forum. Good luck!

ExtraLife Guardians to the Rescue

DeeJ put the spotlight on the Destiny Community's Extra Life campaign, taking a quick moment to ask Mark of Guardian Radio for the details. Check out the article at Bungie.net, but above all else make sure to stop by the Extra Life page to see how you can help raise money for a worthy cause!

Spring Cleaning for Child's Play

Child's Play Destiny Lithograph

Laird has posted his latest round of auction items benefiting the Child's Play charity, one item of which should interest Destiny fans. The print pictured above is one of the limited edition lithographs sold from the Bungie store; only 150 were made, but this one is unique in that it has been autographed by a ton of Bungie employees! Check out this eBay page for more details and a look at the rest of Laird's charity auctions - there are some really neat things up for grabs! (Thanks for the heads-up, Xenos.)

BaghdadBean's Bungie Bag

BaghdadBean, one of the lucky One of Seven winners that got to tour Bungie's studio a few months ago, made a Destiny-themed bag to take on her trip. She writes:

When I found out that I would be going to Bungie for the One of Seven studio tour, I took the Geomantic symbols from the Bungie Day news posts and the Project Tiger symbol, and started making a new fabric design.  After a week of haggling with it, I printed out a run of fabric, and set to making this Bean-Bag. I took this with me to the studio, and got all of the other One of Seven, plus every Bungie employee who I could corner with a magic paint pen, to sign it.

(signatures)
(bag interior)
(bag pocket and more signatures)

This will be placed in the RTX 2013 Side Quest Child's Play Charity Auction, and it is my sincere hope that it will raise enough money to put a smile on some deserving kid's face.

A cool project with a very charitable outcome. Thanks for sharing, Bean!
